This eclectic piece reminds me of the barnacled beaches off of the Hood Canal in Washington where I grew up. It hints at the b eautiful colors of the shells with the water lapping up against the dockbeams of the marina.
This lampwork set (made by me) was a challenge set that I had originally made for the LL757 group auction but I just couldn't let it go at the time so I submitted a different piece. I had so much fun creating the barnacle covered shells and the little fat Turtle. He's been watching over us on the desk for a couple months now just waiting until I found the inspiration for a design to place him in.
Surrounding the unique lampwork pieces are High-fired Greek Ceramics, rustic Thai Sterling beads, and some of Karl's Midnight Irid boro spacers. The Turtle is handwrapped into a spiraling pendant that hangs from Dark brown Greek Leather that has been knotted and intertwined with Sterling chain. Securely closing this piece is one of my own handwrapped Swan clasps, marked as an original design with the 5 Fish signature tag.
Something you won't find anywhere else, absolutely a conversation piece to enjoy for years to come.
